B-Day: May Day, April 18, 2009. Let the count down begin!

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Too many changes make my head spin and my blood pressure go through the roof!

Help us plan B-Day, a day for showing support for OUR Brenau!  The plan: to get as many Brenau Girls, young and old, to come to May Day this year, to wear our cause ribbons, and to make a visual impact on the administration: we mean business.

-Contact your class mates, women in your area and offer to car pool! Older alums may not feel comfortable driving the distance to campus, offer them a ride! Tell them what’s happening and how important it is that we show up for alum events!

-If you have ideas on how to make this a successful event, comment on this post.

-I will be making cause ribbons like a mad woman! If you would like to help, comment on this post.

More to come as planning gets into a fever pitch. We can make ourselves heard, loud and clear! We are products of the Brenau Ideal and we will make our Alma Mater proud.

Unbelievable.

See the page to the right titled “Removal of Crow’s Nest” for the email correspondence regarding this latest event.

Here is the link announcing the new gazebo on Centennial Circle.  I had no idea that it would be this big.  http://www.brenau.edu/pr/News/PRarticle.cfm?id=452

Brenau Girls, PLEASE write or email the president, eschrader@brenau.edu! Write to the Trustees!! Let them know you are unhappy with the direction the campus is taking! Even if it’s a one line email! Let them know how you feel! The louder we are as a group the quicker they will react!

Work in Progress: Declaration of Core Values.

We believe in:

  • preserving the original intent of Brenau University, the Women’s College.
  • preserving the original intent of Brenau University, the Women’s College.
  • recruiting, admitting, and retaining until graduation students to the Women’s College who will be, in various capacities, positive contributing members of the Brenau Community.
  • upholding, respecting and participating in all Traditions of the Women’s College.
  • understanding that we are better for stretching ourselves to the limits in academics and campus involvement as it only better prepares us for life after graduation.
  • embracing the different and valuable gifts that each individual Women’s College student brings to Brenau’s Community.
